A surprising video is going viral on the Internet where two young men are seen giving a ride to a crocodile on a scooter during the recent floods in Vadodara, Gujarat.

The water level in Vishwamitri River passing through the city has risen considerably due to the recent heavy rains and the river has flooded many parts of the city. These floodwaters have provided access to crocodiles to venture out of the river and into the nearby residential societies, panicking local residents.

In the video, two men can be seen holding a crocodile while they drive through the flooded streets of the city. It was reported that these men came from an animal rescue center and were transporting the animal to a rescue center to ensure safety of both people and the animal.

However, due to the unavailability of proper vehicles to transport the animal and looking at the grave danger the animal posed to itself and the citizens, the duo decided to take the dangerous decision of transporting the animal on scooter itself.

There are approximately 440 crocodiles in the Vishwamitri River, confirmed Vadodara Range Forest Officer Karan Singh Rajput. “With the river flooded, many crocodiles have ventured out of the river into the residential areas. Twenty four crocodiles have been rescued in the past 24 hours”, he added.

Along with the crocodiles, the rescue operations have also successfully relocated 75 other animals, including snakes, cobras, large tortoises, and a porcupine to animal rescue centers.

The video has gone viral since its sharing and many users have praised the bravery of the young men carrying out the rescue operation. However, the video also raises concerns about the floods that not only disrupt normal life, but also lead to aquatic wildlife escaping their natural habitats and posing a danger to themselves and the people.
