Pune: Tragic accident at Chandani Chowk, 2 killed several injured after ST bus collides with multiple vehicles
Pune, 13th June 2024: A terrible accident occurred at Chandani Chowk on the Mumbai-Bangalore Expressway near Pune, resulting in severe injuries and fatalities.
An ST bus, coming from Chandani Chowk towards Kothrud, collided with multiple vehicles while crossing the road at high speed.
A Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) bus lost control and collided with a two-wheeler and a mixer truck. The collision led to the immediate death of one rider and left another with grievous injuries. The accident resulted in the death of two individuals and injuries to 5-6 others. Among the injured, one woman was seriously hurt while two others sustained minor injuries.

Sandeep Deshmane, senior inspector of Kothrud police station, stated, “The bus was heading towards Kothrud from Chandni Chowk ramp when it crossed the road and hit several vehicles on the other side. Some of them were injured. We are investigating the accident.” The collision caused a significant traffic jam, which the police are currently addressing. The injured have been taken to the hospital, and traffic has been cleared.
