Maharashtra Government Announces Rs 6000 per Month to 12th Pass Youth, Rs 8000 for Diploma Holders, and Rs 10,000 for Graduates as Stipend
Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has announced the introduction of a new job training and stipend scheme for the state’s youth, tentatively named the ‘Ladka Bhau’ Job Training And Stipend Scheme. This announcement follows the recent launch of the ‘Majhi Ladki Bahin’ scheme, which provides monthly financial assistance to eligible women. Shinde unveiled the details of the new scheme during a press conference at Pandharpur in Solapur district, on the occasion of Ashadhi Ekadashi.
Scheme Details
The ‘Ladka Bhau’ Job Training And Stipend Scheme is primarily targeted at young men and offers financial support during their apprenticeship training. The scheme provides:
- Rs 6,000 per month for job seekers who have passed class 12
- Rs 8,000 per month for diploma holders
- Rs 10,000 per month for those with a bachelor’s degree
These stipends will be paid by the state government during the youths’ on-job training in various industries.
Addressing Unemployment
Chief Minister Shinde emphasized that the ‘Ladka Bhau’ Job Training And Stipend Scheme aims to address the unemployment issue by providing practical job training and financial support to the youth. He noted that this initiative is a response to public feedback following the launch of the ‘Majhi Ladki Bahin’ scheme, which many felt only catered to women.
“Some people said that ‘Ladki Bahin Yojana’ (for women) has been launched; what about ‘Ladka Bhau’ (beloved brother)? We are now announcing a scheme for Ladka Bhau where job seekers who are class 12 pass will receive Rs 6,000, diploma holders will get Rs 8,000, and those with a bachelor’s degree will get Rs 10,000. They will receive this stipend from the government during their on-job training in the industry,” Shinde stated.
Government Support and Funding
The apprenticeship under the ‘Ladka Bhau’ Job Training And Stipend Scheme will be funded by the state government. This initiative is a significant step as it includes students who have completed class 12 or hold diplomas, who were previously ineligible under similar schemes.
A government resolution stated that unemployed youths would receive job training in industrial, non-industrial, government, and semi-government establishments under the scheme. During their training period, they will receive a stipend ranging from Rs 6,000 to Rs 10,000 per month.
