German Labor Minister Hubertus Heil told Schengen News that the Federal Ministry of Labor, the Foreign Office, German businesses, the states, and other ministries are all working together to build this skilled labor plan.

While emphasizing the importance of India, Minister Heil, as cited by Epoch Times, said that “bright minds and helping hands” are welcomed in Germany.

During his discussion with Indian students, Heil also highlighted the labor market challenges Germany faces due to its demographic structure.

By 2035, Germany would require seven million workers, according to a report by the Institute for Employment Research (IAB), which was mentioned by the Labour Minister.

Apart from the aforementioned research, the most recent EURES report on surpluses and shortages revealed that Germany is experiencing a labor shortage in more than 70 professions. Transportation, manufacturing, construction, healthcare, engineering, and information technology are the industries most impacted.
