Bengaluru Gears Up for a Tech Boom with 89 New IT Parks

Bengaluru, popularly known as Silicon City or IT-BT City, is set for a massive expansion in its IT infrastructure. According to News18, a total of 89 new IT tech parks are planned across 54 sectors, further bolstering the city’s status as a global technology hub. The parks, which will be developed over the next two to three years, will be located in strategic zones such as the North Zone, Mahadevapura, and Bommanahalli.

Key areas such as Yeshwantpur and Whitefield are poised to host more than 10 new IT firms, while Bellandur will see the establishment of five new companies. Other regions, including Tumkur Road, Koramangala, and Kundalahalli, will also welcome several IT enterprises. This influx of companies is expected to significantly boost employment opportunities throughout the city.

Expansion of IT Parks and Employment

The development of these state-of-the-art IT parks will further cement Bengaluru’s position as India’s leading software exporter and a key hub for semiconductor technology. These projects are aligned with the city’s ongoing efforts to attract global tech companies and stimulate economic growth. The introduction of new IT companies will create a ripple effect, driving demand for skilled labor and expanding job prospects across various sectors.

BMRDA’s Self-Sufficient Townships

In addition to the IT park boom, the Bangalore Metropolitan Region Development Authority (BMRDA) has revived a two-decade-old plan to establish three self-sufficient townships on the city’s outskirts. These townships will be developed in Bidadi, Solur near Magadi, and Nandagudi in Hoskote. BMRDA has already initiated discussions with Namma Metro to explore extending metro services to these areas, enhancing connectivity and promoting sustainable urban growth.

Among the three towns, Bidadi is expected to be the first to take shape. The township will feature commercial spaces, logistics parks, data centers, and residential units, catering to the growing demand for integrated, self-reliant communities. The Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB) has also been approached to create the necessary infrastructure for supplying potable water to these areas.

According to BMRDA’s Metropolitan Commissioner Rajendra P Cholan, the comprehensive township development in Bidadi will benefit from its strategic location, being well-connected by four highways. This project marks a crucial step toward decentralizing urban growth and reducing pressure on the city’s core infrastructure.
