Pune: Three Killed in Separate Accidents Across the City
Pune, September 13, 2024: Three people, including a senior citizen, died in separate road accidents in Pune. These tragic incidents occurred in the Paud Road, Balewadi, and Nagar Road areas.
On Paud Road, a 65-year-old senior citizen, Balasaheb Laxman Tanpure, was fatally injured after being struck by a speeding bike while crossing the road near Sushrut Hospital. Tanpure, a resident of Laxman Villa Apartment in Kothrud, was rushed to a private hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries. His son, Amit Tanpure, has filed a complaint at Kothrud Police Station, and Assistant Police Inspector R. R. Adagale is leading the investigation.
In a separate incident in Balewadi, an unidentified pedestrian, approximately 35 to 40 years old, was killed after being hit by a speeding dumper. The accident occurred around 12 noon, and the victim died on the spot. The dumper driver fled the scene, and a complaint was lodged at Chaturshringi Police Station by police officer Sachin Birangal. Assistant Police Inspector Dadaraje Pawar is in charge of the case.
In a third incident on Ahmednagar Highway, 53-year-old Ganesh Maruti Waykar, a resident of Pimpri Saandas village, was hit by a speeding vehicle near Jamdar Wasti. The driver escaped, and Waykar succumbed to his injuries. The case is being investigated by Assistant Police Inspector Nilesh Ghorpade, following a complaint filed at Lonikand Police Station.
