The police have sent notices to the couple under section 35 (3) of Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, which recently replaced the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC).
According to reports, Chakravorthy’s Audi first brushed the OLA car and when the driver questioned, they took away his navigation device. So the driver followed them and came to their complex and while stopping, he too rear-ended their Audi.
This enraged Chakravorthy and he got out of his car and slapped the Ola driver. Not satisfied with this, Chakravorthy then lifted Quereshi and flung him to the ground, leaving him with serious head injuries. The accused left the scene after people started gathering in the area.
Following the incident, Qureshi was admitted to JJ Hospital, where he received medical treatment. After regaining consciousness on Wednesday, Qureshi provided his statement to the police, leading to the formal registration of the case.
