Pune: LPG Tanker Overturns on Mumbai-Bangalore Highway Near Warje, Traffic Distrupted
A major tragedy was averted when a tanker carrying LPG overturned on the Warje Bridge near Katraj on the Mumbai-Pune lane on Sunday morning.
The incident severely affected traffic, but there were no reports of any casualties or gas leakage.
Emergency services, including the fire brigade and Pune traffic police, rushed to the spot. Two cranes were deployed to remove the tanker, and traffic has been partially restored. Local authorities worked to clear the crowd gathered at the spot and ensure the safety of people.
The overturned tanker completely blocked one direction of the Mumbai-Bengaluru highway, leading to long queues of vehicles. Traffic diversions have been implemented, and motorists have been advised to take alternate routes.

Initial investigations indicate that the tanker overturned after losing balance at a bend. The highway is a major route connecting Mumbai and Bengaluru, posing special challenges in traffic management.
The administration is constantly making efforts to normalise traffic and clear the debris. Travelers are requested to take real-time information on the situation in the area before travelling and remain alert.
