Fire Breaks Out on 16th Floor of High-Rise Building in Kalyan, Mumbai; Efforts on to Douse the Flames
Kalyan, 26 November 2024: A massive fire broke out on the 16th floor of the 23-floor Vertex Society located in Kalyan city this evening.
As soon as the information about this accident was received, the fire department personnel reached the spot and started efforts to control the fire. According to preliminary information, the fire may have been caused by a short circuit or a cylinder blast, although the exact cause of the fire is not yet clear.
The incident happened around 6:30 pm when the fire engulfed the 16th floor of the building and then it spread to the 17th and 18th floors. A large number of ambulances and policemen have also reached the spot and rescue operations are on. However, no casualties have been reported in this fire so far.
Several videos of the fire have also gone viral on social media, in which smoke and flames rising from the building can be clearly seen. Firefighters are working hard to control the fire and traffic has been stopped in the surrounding area as a precaution keeping in mind the safety.

The fire caused panic among the local people and a huge crowd gathered in the surrounding area. Especially, after a fire in such high-rise buildings, concerns about safety increase, as controlling fire in high-rise buildings is very challenging. However, it is a matter of relief that there has been no loss of life or property in this fire and firefighters are engaged in efforts to extinguish the fire.
So far there is no report of anyone being injured or dead in this incident. The local administration and firefighters are working with full alertness to control the fire.
