Traffic Diversions Announced on Ganeshkhind Road for Hinjawadi-Shivajinagar Metro Construction
The Pune Traffic Police have announced temporary traffic diversions on Ganeshkhind Road to facilitate the ongoing Tata Metro construction.
These changes, effective since November 26, aim to minimize congestion and ensure smooth vehicular movement as construction progresses.
The work involves port beam construction at Pune University Junction and girder launching at two metro station sites. Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic), Pune City, Amol Zende, emphasized the necessity of these measures for public and worker safety.
Key Traffic Diversions:
- Pune University Junction:
- Only two-wheelers, three-wheelers, and cars are permitted entry from Bremen Chowk.
- Goods vehicles, PMPML buses, and luxury buses are restricted.
- Alternative routes: Jaykar Path, Ambedkar Chowk, and Symphony Chowk for those traveling towards Deccan or Shivajinagar.
- PMR 20 Metro Station Area:
- Vehicles from Pune University Square to Range Hills are barred from using Ganeshkhind Road.
- Alternative route: Range Hills Corner via Symphony Circle.
- COEP Hostel Construction Area:
- Access from Simla Office Junction to COEP Hostel is closed.
- Alternative route: Right turn at Sancheti Hospital.
- Night-Time Restrictions:
- Sancheti Hospital underpass will be closed from 10:00 PM to 7:00 AM.
- Alternative routes will be available during these hours.
- No-Parking Zones:
- No parking is allowed between Range Hills to Symphony Chowk and Bremen Chowk to Ambedkar Chowk.

Authorities have urged commuters to cooperate with these temporary changes and utilize alternative routes. Updates will be provided as the construction progresses.
