Pune: PMC Conducts Demolition Drive, Clears 25,630 Sq. Ft. of Unauthorized Constructions in Baner
Pune, December 06, 2024: The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) undertook a significant demolition drive targeting unauthorized constructions along Pan Card Club Road in Baner.
The operation focused on structures near Murkute Udyan Chowk, Hotel Corner Lounge, Indian Culture Hotel, Hotel Signature, and West Rose Society.
Led by the Superintendent Engineer and Executive Engineer from PMC’s Building Development Department, Zone 3, the action was supported by police personnel and a dedicated team of assistant engineers, junior engineers, and encroachment staff. Utilizing equipment such as a JCB machine, a gas cutter, and the efforts of 10 encroachment personnel, the team successfully cleared approximately 25,630 square feet of illegal structures.
The PMC clarified that this drive was conducted to enforce zoning regulations and reclaim public spaces, underlining its commitment to addressing unauthorized construction in the city. The operation proceeded smoothly with coordination among all involved departments. Authorities reiterated their stance against illegal developments and urged residents to obtain proper permissions for any construction activities.
