The NH7 Weekender music festival, scheduled to take place this weekend in Pune, has been cancelled due to concerns raised by local authorities over potential law and order issues and severe traffic congestion. The event, which was set for December 14 and 15 at Teerth Fields in Sus, featured a highly anticipated line-up of popular Indian artists.

The Pimpri Chinchwad police denied permission for the event, citing safety and logistical concerns. Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime Branch) Sandeep Doiphode stated that the decision was made to maintain public order and minimize disruption. He also cautioned the organizers against proceeding with the festival, warning of legal action if they failed to comply with the directive.

The announcement has left both fans and organizers disappointed, especially as extensive preparations were already underway. The cancellation underscores the challenges of balancing large-scale public events with urban management and public safety concerns.
