Pune, 25th December 2024: Maharashtra Industries Minister Uday Samant has instructed officials to take immediate steps to resolve the long-pending infrastructure issues in Hinjawadi IT Park. The delays, largely attributed to the Assembly Elections model code of conduct, had stalled critical development projects in the area.

Key projects such as road widening, flyover construction, and solid waste management systems remain incomplete. Earlier in June, Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar had reviewed these issues and urged divisional commissioners to act. Despite some progress, momentum slowed during the election period.

To address these challenges, Samant convened a meeting on Tuesday with the Hinjawadi Industries Association and officials from the Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC). The discussion included 17 pressing issues, such as alternative road development, flyovers, and waste management projects. Senior attendees included MIDC Chief Engineer Nitin Wankhede, Regional Officer Archana Pathare, and representatives from various industry associations.

Samant assured the stakeholders that he would personally escalate issues requiring intervention from the Chief Minister’s Office. He also addressed concerns in the Pimpri-Chinchwad industrial area, responding to demands for a separate fire station and a common Sewage Treatment Plant (STP). He instructed the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) Commissioner to expedite these projects.

The minister emphasized the importance of coordinated efforts by the Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation to resolve problems faced by industries, including road congestion, parking, and infrastructure deficiencies. His directives have raised optimism among IT companies and industries, hoping for swift progress on these critical projects.
