India has etched its name in history by completing a remarkable double at the first-ever Kho Kho World Cup. Both the men’s and women’s teams emerged victorious, showcasing their dominance throughout the tournament at the Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium on Sunday.

The Indian men’s team faced Nepal in a thrilling final and secured a convincing 54-36 win, much to the delight of a cheering home crowd. Leading the charge was captain Pratik Waikar, a Pune native, who delivered a standout performance to guide his team to glory.

Earlier in the day, the Indian women’s team demonstrated unmatched prowess, breezing past Nepal with a commanding 78-40 victory. This victory not only brought immense pride to the nation but also marked the end of an era, as former captain Nasreen Shaikh, a 2023 Arjuna Award recipient, announced her retirement after the final.
