Pune: Metro Extends Operating Hours to 11 PM Starting January 26th
Pune Metro has announced an extension of its operational hours, now running daily from 6 am to 11 pm. This change, effective from Republic Day, January 26th, is in response to commuter requests for longer service hours.
Currently, Pune Metro serves commuters on two lines:
- Purple Line: Pimpri-Chinchwad to Swargate
- Aqua Line: Ramwadi to Vanaz
Maha Metro shared the update via their official X (formerly Twitter) handle, stating, “Exciting news for Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad! Responding to public demand, Pune Metro will now run daily from 6 am to 11 pm starting Republic Day, January 26, 2025.”

Extended Hours Address Public Demand
Maha Metro Managing Director Shravan Hardikar emphasized the decision was made to accommodate the city’s growing ridership. “Considering the increasing ridership and requests from passengers, we decided to extend service hours. This will benefit citizens working late by providing a punctual and safe public transport option,” Hardikar said.
Republic Day Special Promotion
To mark Republic Day, Pune Metro has announced a special offer: the One Pune Transit Card will be available for just Rs 20, aimed at promoting digital ticketing and seamless travel for commuters.
