Pune to get a branch of IIM Nagpur, 70 acres of land secured for the project
New opportunities in career and education emerge for the students and professionals of Pune and Pimpri Chinchwad as a branch of IIM Nagpur approved at Moshi, PCMC.
The new IIM branch aims to provide top notch educational opportunities for students in Pimpri-Chinchwad and the surrounding areas. It will enhance employment and entrepreneurial opportunities besides adding management expertise to the skill pool of the region.
The project is being spearheaded by Bhosari constituency MLA Mahesh Landage. In a recent meeting held in Mumbai, Mahesh Landge presented the matter to Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. The decision was made after consulting with various government authorities. Afterwards, he broke this good news to the citizens of PCMC and Pune.
It is also learnt that the district collector’s office is in the process of transferring the government land to IIM and is also preparing a proposal to change the land reservation status to the Maharashtra government. Officials have been instructed to expedite the necessary procedures to support this project.
Moshi will gain recognition for hosting a national-level educational institution. Earlier, the first Jagadguru of Maharashtra Sant Tukaram Maharaj Sant Peeth was inaugurated at Talgaon Chikhali. A grand building of Pimpri-Chinchwad Court with state-of-the-art facilities is being constructed in Moshi. Interestingly, a branch of the Government Engineering College is also being established in the city. Now with the arrival of an educational institution of national and international repute in the city, the identity of Pimpri-Chinchwad will be prominently highlighted on the world map.
