Union Minister for Education, Dharmendra Pradhan yesterday released NIRF rankings for higher education institutes across the country. The National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) rankings provide a comprehensive assessment of the quality and performance of India’s higher education institutions (HEIs).

Focus on Employability and Skills

While addressing the audience, Education Minister Pradhan emphasized the importance of employability skills as a key parameter in future rankings. He highlighted the need for all 58,000 higher education institutions across the country to be included in the ranking and rating framework, stating, “Knowing the quality, performance, and strengths of an academic institution is a right of students and parents. Therefore, our ranking mechanism must include skilling as a parameter.” He also stressed the inclusion of intangible aspects of education in the rankings framework as a powerful stimulus for learning and development.
