This A320 Neo, which will join Air India’s fleet, is designed with a three-class configuration: 8 Business Class seats, 24 Premium Economy seats with extra legroom, and 132 Economy Class seats. Notably, this marks the first time Air India has introduced Premium Economy cabins on its narrowbody aircraft. The aircraft is set to commence operations on domestic short-haul routes starting August 2024. Additionally, three A320 Neo aircraft in the three-class configurations with the old Air India livery are already in service on the domestic network.

Looking ahead, Air India plans to enhance the flying experience for its passengers with upgraded and refurbished aircraft across both its narrowbody and widebody fleet starting early next year.
