The much-awaited 18th edition of Pune’s Bhimthadi Jatra 2024, Pune events December 2024, Maharashtra rural arts, Bhimthadi food stalls, Share Your Privilege campaign, a celebration of Maharashtra’s rural arts, culture, and sustainable innovations, is scheduled to take place from December 20 to 25 at the Agriculture Ground, Sinchan Nagar, Pune.

This year’s Jatra holds special significance as it commemorates the 25th death anniversary of Padma Shri (Late) Appasaheb Pawar, a renowned agriculturalist known for his revolutionary contributions, including the development of drip irrigation systems.

Saee Pawar, the curator of the Jatra, shared that the event will host approximately 325 stalls, including 25 stalls by farmers offering residue-free, GI-tagged agricultural products such as honey and fresh farm produce. Themed #ShareYourPrivilege, this edition aims to connect urban and rural communities and foster mutual understanding. The previous edition saw a record-breaking 1 lakh visitors, and organizers are anticipating similar attendance this year. The event also boasts a 5-acre parking area and a strong focus on cleanliness and crowd management.

A highlight of this year’s Jatra is a collaboration with Telangana, featuring four stalls showcasing traditional handlooms and authentic regional cuisine, including pickles and spices. The Bara Balutedar section, another key attraction, will pay tribute to Maharashtra’s traditional occupational communities through live demonstrations of rural craftsmanship.

Food lovers are in for a treat, with 85 food stalls offering authentic Maharashtrian delicacies, including Malvani seafood thalis, Kolhapuri thalis, and a variety of sweet dishes.

The Jatra will be open daily from 10 AM to 10 PM, with an entry fee of Rs 60.
