CM Eknath Shinde issues instructions to Pune administration for situation preparedness
Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has directly phoned administration officials in Pune and instructed them to stay alert and be prepared for managing the situation due to continuous rainfall and red issued by IMD.
Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has given instructions to Pune Municipal Commissioner and Pune Collector over telephone that all arrangements should be made for shelter, clothing, food etc. if people are shifted because of flooding. If required help of NDRF, SDRF and Army should be taken.
Water discharge has been going on from Khadakwasla, Mulshi, Pavana etc. dams in Pune area. In this background, the citizens within the flood line and potential danger areas near the dam and rivers should be shifted to safe places.
The Chief Minister said that arrangements were being made to ensure safety of people in Ektanagar, Dattawadi, Patil Estate, Yerwada area, Shivaji Nagar Court area, Kamgar Putala, Harris Bridge, Dapodi, Juni Sangvi, Kasarwadi, Pimpri Camp, Rawet, Balewadi Gavthan, Jupiter Hospital area in Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad area as these areas may be affected due to overflowing rivers after water discharge from dams.
Chief Minister Shinde has given orders that the entire administration should remain alert during this period. All administrations should work in coordination to evacuate people to safe places, provide all facilities to them in shelter centers. Taking note of the various updates coming from the Meteorological Department, the people should be informed about it immediately, the CM said.
