Eknath Shinde Breaks Silence on Maharashtra CM Post, Says Shiv Sena Will Not… See What He Revealed!
In a press conference held following the landslide victory of the Mahayuti (BJP-Shiv Sena alliance) in Maharashtra, caretaker Chief Minister Eknath Shinde expressed gratitude for the overwhelming public mandate and reaffirmed his commitment to the alliance’s leadership.
Acknowledging the Victory
Shinde began by thanking the people of Maharashtra, particularly the “ladli bahinas, ladle brothers, and ladle farmers,” for their unwavering support. Reflecting on his tenure, he said, “The opportunity to work for 2.5 years as CM fulfilled the dream of Balasaheb Thackeray to see a Shiv Sainik as the Chief Minister. That dream was made possible by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah, who stood behind me like a rock. I am proud of that.”
Shinde emphasized the Mahayuti’s dual focus on development and welfare. “This government is of the common man. I never considered myself as the CM—I am a common man working for the common man. We launched welfare schemes like the ‘Ladki Bahin Yojana’ to bring meaningful changes to people’s lives,” he said, underlining his identity as a ‘Ladla Bhai’ who resonates with ordinary citizens.
Commitment to Mahayuti’s Unity
Addressing speculation about dissent within the alliance, Shinde dismissed the notion, saying, “For the past 3-4 days, there have been discussions that someone is angry and sitting at home. We are not those who get angry; we are those who fight, work, and bring change to people’s lives. This victory has increased our responsibility, and we will work more aggressively under the Mahayuti banner.”
Shinde also spoke about his conversation with the Prime Minister. “I told PM Modi there would be no hindrance from our side in forming the government. I also spoke to Amit Bhai and said, ‘You decide, and we will accept that decision.’ Whatever decision is taken regarding the CM candidate, Shiv Sena will extend its full support.”
BJP and Mahayuti Leadership to Decide
Following a meeting between senior Shiv Sena leaders and Home Minister Amit Shah, Shiv Sena MP Prataprao Jadhav shared insights into the discussions. “We met the HM to express gratitude for his pivotal role during the Maharashtra elections. No specific discussions on government formation were held,” Jadhav clarified. He emphasized that the decision on the CM post would rest with the senior leadership of the Mahayuti, including PM Modi and Amit Shah, and would be respected by all alliance members.
Looking Ahead
Eknath Shinde reaffirmed his belief in the collective decision-making process, stating, “This victory reflects the people’s trust in Mahayuti. As a farmer’s son who understands poverty, I know the challenges our people face. We remain committed to bringing positive change to their lives with the combined efforts of the state and central governments.”
As Maharashtra awaits the announcement of its next Chief Minister, Shinde’s declaration of unconditional support sets the tone for a unified and decisive Mahayuti government in the state.
