Hinjawadi resident looses over Rs 42 lakh in share trading scam
Pune: A 54-year-old resident of Hinjawadi lost Rs 42 lakh recently in an online share trading scam.
The fraud happened between April and June 10, however, 54-year-old filed complaint with the Hinjawadi police on Sunday, June 16.
According to the FIR lodged at Hinjawadi police station, the complainant is an employee of a private company. In April, he was invited to join a social media group related to online investment in shares.
“The scamsters offered him online training in shares trading and promised good returns on investment through them,” mentioned the FIR.
Between April and June 10, the victim transferred Rs 42,16,560 into different bank account numbers given by the crooks.
“When he was not allowed to withdraw him money, the victim realized he was duped and stopped responding to the crooks,” the FIR said.
