After spending 14 years in Bengaluru, a startup founder is now going to start his new journey in Pune, Maharashtra. The name of this founder is Asthana Ujjawal, who has shared a note about his decision to leave Bengaluru on X (formerly Twitter), which has now become a topic of discussion on social media. Ujjwal told that Bengaluru has shaped his life at many important turns, but now this step has been taken keeping in mind the needs of his business.

Ujjwal wrote on X, “I am leaving Bangalore and going to Pune.” Sharing his experiences with this city, he said that Bengaluru has always been like a ‘dream’ for him, where he got his first job, traveled abroad, found a life partner, made friends, built two successful businesses, and also received funding. However, he also said that the reason for his leaving Bangalore is not because he feels like an “outsider”, but this decision has been taken due to the needs of his business.

Ujjwal further said that there has been criticism from Bengaluru locals over the growing number of migrants in the city, and that those who want to make the city their home should learn the Kannada language. However, he clarified that he never felt like an “outsider” whether he was traveling by BMTC buses, autos, or cabs.

Ujjwal called Bengaluru a “beautiful experience” that cannot be described in words. He called for going beyond the commonly said things about the city like “weather, coffee, beer, and startups” and experiencing the real feel of the city. He also said, “Bengaluru is not an ordinary city, it is a beautiful experience that can only be understood by living with the people here and walking the streets of Jayanagar.”

Ujjwal, who is the co-founder of fitness brand Zymrat, also said that while he is excited to start a new life in Pune, he will keep coming back to the city, remembering his 14 years of experience in the streets of Bengaluru.

Ujjwal’s note garnered reactions from many users. One user, Aviral Bhatnagar, wrote, “Pune is a great city – nice people, good weather, good food, and great vibes. It’s a mix of the best aspects of all Indian cities.” Another user said, “Pune is a smaller version of Bengaluru. Come visit!”

Many other users also called Pune just as charming as Bengaluru and wished Ujjwal all the best for this new experience.

Ujjwal’s journey from Bengaluru to Pune is definitely the beginning of a new chapter, but his priceless experiences from this city will always remain with him.
