Jitendra Dudi Appointed as Pune’s New District Collector; Major Bureaucratic Reshuffle in Maharashtra

In a major reshuffle on January 2, 2025, Jitendra Dudi has been appointed as the new District Collector of Pune. Dudi, an IAS officer from the 2016 batch, previously served as the District Collector of Satara. Originally part of the Jharkhand cadre, Dudi’s cadre was transferred to Maharashtra for personal reasons.

This move comes as the current Pune District Collector, Suhas Diwase, has been promoted to the role of Settlement Commissioner and Director of Land Records for Maharashtra state. Additionally, Santosh Patil, the CEO of Pune Zilla Parishad, has been transferred to replace Dudi as the new District Collector of Satara.

Earlier Transfers on December 31, 2024

The Maharashtra government initiated a major reshuffle on the last day of the year, transferring eight senior IAS officers across various departments:

  1. R Vimala: Promoted to level 14 in the pay matrix while continuing as State Project Director of Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan.
  2. Sheetal Teli Ugale: Solapur Municipal Corporation Commissioner, promoted to level 14.
  3. HS Sonawane: Transferred from Inspector General of Registration and Stamps to State Agriculture Commissioner.
  4. Suraj Mandhare: Transferred from Sports and Youth Commissioner to Agriculture Commissioner.
  5. IA Kundan: Replaced as School Education and Sports Principal Secretary by Ranjit Singh Deol, the Food and Civil Supply Principal Secretary.
  6. Sachindra Pratap Singh: Appointed as Commissioner of School Education.
  7. Prashant Narnavare: Appointed as Secretary of Special Inquiry Officer, General Administration Department.
  8. Ruchesh Jayvanshi: Transferred to Secretary of the Minority Affairs Department.

Promotions and Appointments

Several other IAS officers received promotions and new responsibilities:

  • Piyush Singh: Promoted to Principal Secretary.
  • Yogesh Mhase: Pune Metropolitan Commissioner, promoted to level 14 in the pay matrix.
  • Rajesh Narvekar: Food and Drug Administration Commissioner, promoted to level 14.
  • Manik Gursal: Maharashtra Maritime Board CEO, promoted to level 14.

Key positions in the Fisheries Department, Maharashtra State Finance Corporation, and other departments were also reshuffled, ensuring a dynamic administrative environment for the new year.
