Konkan Railway Train Disruption

Konkan Railway Services Halted Due to Landslides

Heavy rains have lashed the Konkan region over the past two days, causing significant disruptions to the Konkan Railway services. The continuous downpour has led to soil and trees falling on the tracks near the Diwankhawati Natuwadi tunnel, bringing train traffic to a complete standstill.

Impact on Train Services

The collapse near the Natuwadi tunnel has resulted in a major landslide, covering the railway tracks with rocks and mud. The ongoing efforts to clear the debris include the use of a polishing machine and JCBs, but the heavy rains are hampering the restoration process. As a result, train services have been severely affected, with many express trains halted at various stations along the route.
