“Looteri Dulhan” Nabbed: A Decade of Marriages and Rs 1.25 Crore Duped
In a shocking tale of deceit spanning over a decade, a woman from Uttarakhand, known as Seema or Nikki, has been arrested by the Jaipur Police for duping wealthy men under the guise of marriage. Dubbed the “Looteri Dulhan” or “looting bride,” Seema targeted affluent men, collecting a staggering Rs 1.25 crore in settlements through fabricated cases and sudden disappearances.
A Decade-Long Scheme
The saga began in 2013 when Seema married an Agra-based businessman. The marriage ended with a legal dispute that saw Seema walk away with Rs 75 lakh as part of a settlement. This marked the start of a calculated pattern.
In 2017, she married a software engineer from Gurugram. The marriage didn’t last long, and Seema extracted Rs 10 lakh from the man before moving on.
Her most recent victim, in 2023, was a businessman from Jaipur. This time, Seema fled the marital home shortly after the wedding, taking Rs 36 lakh in cash and jewellery. The family’s complaint led to her arrest by the Jaipur Police.
Seema Agarwal, aka Nikki, a “looteri dulhan,” blackmailed wealthy grooms she met on matrimonial sites, extorting ₹1.25 crore. From accusing families of dowry harassment to fleeing with cash and jewelry, her trail of deceit spanned over a decade.

The Modus Operandi
Police investigations reveal that Seema identified her victims through matrimonial websites, specifically targeting divorced men or widowers. By strategically marrying in different states, she evaded detection while amassing a fortune.
Authorities suspect there may be more victims and are delving deeper into her decade-long crime spree. A team from the Murlipura police station tracked her to Dehradun, where she was apprehended. Investigators are piecing together the full extent of her operations.
The Fallout
The case has left many questioning the vulnerabilities in matrimonial platforms and the safeguards for those seeking companionship online. The arrest of the “Looteri Dulhan” underscores the need for vigilance in such matters and has sparked widespread discussions about fraud in modern relationships.
