Maharashtra Chief Minister’s deadlock: Ramdas Athawale suggests surprising solution
Union Minister Ramdas Athawale has given his opinion on the ongoing deadlock over the Maharashtra Chief Minister’s post and suggested a way to create harmony between the two parties.
Talking to the media, Athawale said, “BJP is demanding that Devendra Fadnavis be made the Chief Minister, while Eknath Shinde’s supporters are saying that he has done good work and he should remain the Chief Minister. This is the reason why the deadlock has arisen.”
Athawale further said that if Devendra Fadnavis is made the Chief Minister, then Eknath Shinde should get a ministerial post at the Center in the Modi Government.

This statement has come amid the ongoing turmoil for the post of Chief Minister in Maharashtra’s political scenario, where both sides are claiming their respective achievements and their importance in the state government. Athawale’s suggestion is an attempt to balance the aspirations of both the leaders, so that harmony is maintained in the alliance.
Now it remains to be seen what steps are taken by the leadership of BJP and Shiv Sena (Shinde faction) to resolve this deadlock.
