Maharashtra Weather: IMD Places 6 Districts on red, 8 on orange alert, for heavy rain tomorrow
Monsoon has made a grand comeback in the state of Maharashtra. Most of the state is receiving heavy rainfall, leading to increased inflow of water in the state’s water reservoirs. IMD has placed many districts on red and orange alerts on July 19.

Maharashtra Weather Alert
Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has placed many districts on various alert levels for rainfall activity tomorrow. Check details here:
Districts on Red Alert – Heavy to very heavy rainfall at a few places with extremely heavy rainfall at isolated places in Ratnagiri, Satara, Bhandara, Chandrapur, Gadchiroli and Gondia.
Districts on Orange Alert – Extremely heavy rainfall at isolated places in ghat areas. Moderate rain in plains in Palghar, Thane, Raigad, Sindhudurg, Pune, Amravati and Nagpur.
Districts on Yellow Alert – Heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated places very likely in Mumbai, Ahmednagar, Kolhapur, Jalna, Parbhani, Hingoli, Nanded, Akola, Buldhana, Washim and Yavatmal.
Overall, the districts of Konkan are likely to receive heavy to very heavy rain at isolated places. The districts of Madhya Maharashtra are likely to receive heavy to very heavy rain at isolated places in Ghat region. The districts of Marathwada are likely to witness thundershowers at isolated places, gusty winds (speed 30-40 kmph) and moderate rain. Thunderstorm, gusty winds and moderate rain are likely to occur over the districts of Vidarbha.
Mumbai Weather – Local forecast for Mumbai city and suburbs for the next 24 hours. Heavy to very heavy rainfall in city and suburbs. Maximum and minimum temperatures will be around 28°C and 24°C.
Pune Weather – The district will witness light to moderate to heavy rainfall in the urban areas and very heavy rain in ghat areas. Maximum and minimum temperatures will be around 29°C and 21°C.
Rest of the places will witness light to moderate rainfall with some thunderstorms and winds.
Flood Situation in Sindhudurg – Incessant rain in Sindhudurg district has resulted in Terekhol river crossing the warning level, rain water submegerd Hodwade bridge.

Rainfall Status Till Date in Maharashtra – According to KS Hosalikar, Head, IMD Pune, between 01 June to 17 July, the state has received 15 percent excess rainfall overall. Except for the districts of Nagpur, Gondia, Bhandara and Hingoli, other districts have received normal to above-normal rainfall.
