Maharashtra Weather: Many districts on yellow alert different weather conditions, check five-day weather forecast

Different regions of Maharashtra will witness different extremes of weather conditions in the next few days.

As monsoon sets over Kerala and begins to pound the state with heavy rains, Maharashtra is still reeling under hot and humid conditions with residents eagerly waiting for the arrival of monsoon.

Meanwhile, the Regional Meteorological Center (RMC), Mumbai has sound yellow alert in most of the districts of Maharashtra for a variety of weather conditions.

Hot and Humid Conditions

The districts of Palghar, Thane, Mumbai, Raigad, and Ratnagiri districts will experience hot and humid conditions with temperatures ranging from 35-38 degrees Celsius and even the nights will be sweltering at 25-30 degrees Celsius.

Thunderstorm and Lightening

Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg, Ahmednagar, Pune, Kolhapur, Satari, Sangli, Sholapur, Beed, Nanded, Latur, Osmanabad, Akola, Amravati, Bhandara, Buldana, Chandrapur, Gadchiroli, Gondia, Nagpur, Wadha and Washim will witness thunderstorm with lightning accompanied by gusty winds (speed reaching up to 40-50 kmph).

Heatwave Conditions

Wardha, Gondia, Gadchiroli and Bhandara will also witness heatwave conditions in isolated pockets along with thunderstorms and strong winds.

Temperature Forecast for the Next 5 Days

In a special bulletin dated, May 31, 2024, IMD has shared the temperature forecast for the next five days across various regions of Maharashtra.

Konkan-Goa Weather Outlook

Maximum Temperature:

  • A rise in maximum temperatures by 1-2°C is expected over the next 3-4 days, followed by a gradual fall by 1-2°C.
  • Hot and humid conditions are very likely to prevail in isolated pockets of North Konkan on the following dates:
    • 30th May: Mumbai, Thane, Palghar, Raigad
    • 31st May: Mumbai, Thane, Palghar, Raigad
    • 1st June: Mumbai, Thane, Palghar, Raigad

Minimum Temperature:

  • No significant change in minimum temperatures is expected during the next 4-5 days.

Madhya Maharashtra Weather Outlook

Maximum Temperature:

  • A rise in maximum temperatures by 2-3°C is expected over the next 3-4 days, followed by a gradual fall by 1-2°C.

Minimum Temperature:

  • No significant change in minimum temperatures is expected during the next 4-5 days.

Marathwada Weather Outlook

Maximum Temperature:

  • A rise in maximum temperatures by 2-3°C is expected over the next 3-4 days, followed by a gradual fall by 1-2°C.

Minimum Temperature:

  • No significant change in minimum temperatures is expected during the next 4-5 days.

The weather department categorically suggests taking adequate precautions against heatwave, thunderstorms and lightening, depending upon the weather conditions in your area.
