Maharashtra Weather: Subdued rainfall activity and moderate temp in the state except a few places, check district wise forecast
Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast subdued rainfall activity across the state with most of the districts on green alert till August 14, expecting light to moderate rainfall due to the absence of any strong weather pattern.
Former head of weather forecasting division, IMD Pune, Anupam Kashyapi has said there will be a reduced rainfall activity in Pune for the next 3-4 days as there is no strong weather system close to the state. He said the strength of westerly winds has also reduced, leading to less moisture being transported to the land from the Arabian Sea.
As a result of this, Kashyapi believes the state will experience reduced rainfall activity, except Vidarbha where there are chances of heavy rain with thunderstorms and lightening.
For ghats of Pune, he says, these areas can still experience isolated heavy rainfall and they continue to be on yellow alert.
