Providing a boost to Maharashtra’s automotive sector, Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has announced Ather Energy’s decision to set up their third manufacturing facility in the state. The leading electric scooter manufacturer will establish a state-of-the-art plant in Aurangabad Industrial City (AURIC), marking a substantial investment of over ₹2000 crore and creating employment opportunities for around 4000 individuals.

Ather Energy’s Strategic Decision

Following a recent meeting with Ather Energy’s Founder, Shri Swapnil Jain, Deputy CM Fadnavis expressed enthusiasm about the company’s choice to expand in Maharashtra. He emphasized that this move underscores Maharashtra’s supportive business environment and robust policies for electric vehicle manufacturing. This decision aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision for India’s industrial growth, reinforcing Maharashtra’s pivotal role as a preferred destination for investments in automotive innovation.

Ather Energy’s new facility in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar is set to produce up to 1 million units of vehicles and battery packs annually.
