Monsoon expected in Pune by June 10
Weather experts have predicted spells of heavy to very heavy rainfall in Madhya Maharashtra and Konkan region in the coming few days.
Vineet Kumar, a noted weather scientist, quoting ‘imd-gfs forecast’, says, Mahabaleshwar, Panchghani and Pune are likely to receive heavy rains on 9 and 10 June. Goa will witness heavy rainfall on June 8 and 9.
He further added that monsoon may arrive in Pune by 10th of June.
Vineet’s predictions are echoed by Dr. Anupam Kashyapi, former head of weather forecasting division, IMD Pune. He added that ghats in Madhya Maharashtra can get heavy rains and suggested caution for citizens.
On the other hand, Climate Research and Services, IMD Pune predicts heavy rainfall in Pune on June 10 and 11.
Rainfall predictions from multiple sources pinpoint to heavy rain in Pune from June 9 till 11.
Residents are advised to exercise caution.
