Mumbai: Fire at BKC Metro Station; Services Disrupted
Mumbai, November 15, 2024: A fire incident was reported outside the entry gate A4 of the Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC) metro station on Friday. The incident took place at 1:09 pm when a fire broke out in the station’s basement, which is around 40-50 feet deep. The fire engulfed wood storage and furniture, causing smoke to spread rapidly.
Services at Station Temporarily Suspended
Passenger services were temporarily suspended due to smoke coming in from the entry/exit A4 of the metro station. The Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation Limited (MMRCL) informed passengers that services at BKC station have been halted due to safety reasons. Passengers were advised to use the Bandra Colony station during this period.
Fire Brigade and Senior officials on the Spot
The fire brigade team immediately launched an operation to control the fire. Senior officials of MMRC and DMRC were present at the spot to monitor the situation.
Services Resumed
Metro services resumed at BKC station after the fire was successfully controlled and the situation was declared safe.

For passenger safety, we have paused services. Senior Officers of MMRC & DMRC are at site. Please proceed to Bandra Colony station for alternative boarding. Thank you for your understanding.”
