Murlidhar Mohol proposes to name Pune airport after Jagadguru Sant Tukaram Maharaj

Murlidhar Mohol, Union Minister of State for Civil Aviation and Co-operation and Member of Parliament, Pune Lok Sabha Constituency, has proposed to name Pune International Airport after Jagadguru Santshrestha Tukaram Maharaj.

In this regard, he had a meeting with state Chief Minster Eknath Shinde and Deputy Chief Ministers Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar requesting the naming of Pune International Airport after Sant Tukaram Maharaj.

He said, the state government was positive about the proposal and it will be sent to central government for approval and he would follow with them. Mohol shared this on social media on Sunday night after the aforementioned meeting.

He said he was optimistic that the state government would support the initiative, and the proposal would soon be finalised and sent to the Centre for approval.

Mohol said proposal to name Pune Airport after Sant Tukaram Maharaj was the desire of local villagers as Jagadguru Santshrestha Tukaram Maharaj was born in Lohegaon, where Pune International Airport is located.
