The President has accepted the resignation and requested Shri Narendra Modi and the Council of Ministers to continue till the new Government assumes office. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will also submit the recommendation for the dissolution of 17th Lok Sabha.

The meeting of BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) will be convened at 4 pm at PM’s residence to review the Lok Sabha election results and deliberate on the details of forming the new government.
Bihar Chief Minister and JD(U) chief Nitish Kumar, along with TDP President N. Chandrababu Naidu, who is on the way to become the next Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, will be present at the meeting. Other key leaders from the BJP and its allies will also attend.
The leaders are expected to congratulate Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who poised for a record-equaling third consecutive term, and talk about the details of the new government. This new government is likely to have a different composition, giving a bigger share to the BJP’s allies.
Despite the NDA having a comfortable majority in the 543-member Lok Sabha, there are many stopovers on the way to government formation as the demands of the allies may put brakes on NDA’s smooth sailing to Raisina Hill.
The TDP, JD(U), Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena, and Chirag Paswan-led LJP (Ram Vilas) have won 16, 12, seven, and five seats respectively, making them key players in the formation of the new government.
