Passport services will not be available for 5 days, appointments will be rescheduled; check details
Passport department of the Ministry of External Affairs has announced that all passport related services will not be available for five days due to technical maintenance of Passport Seva Portal.
According to a communication by the passport department, all passport related services will remain suspended from 8 pm (29.8.2024) till 06 am (2.9.2024) due to technical maintenance. The system will not be available for anyone including those in the Ministry of External Affairs, Passport Kendras, Police Authorities etc.
The appointments scheduled for August 30 will be rescheduled and the applicants will be separately informed of the new time and date of their appointment at the passport office.

Applicants will not be able to submit new applications during this period. Any fresh appointments also cannot be scheduled during this period as the online passport services too will not be available.
The passport department has informed that due to technical reasons, this portal will not be able to work for five days. This will affect not only the functioning of the Passport Seva Kendra, but also the Regional Passport Office, police verification of applicants and the Ministry of External Affairs.
