PCMC Action Against Mosquito Breeding places in the city

The Health and Medical Department of the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation has inspected the mosquito breeding places in various locations of the city and taken penal action against the owners and concerned persons where mosquito larvae were found. In this action, which has been going on since June 1, 2024, notices have been issued to 156 establishments. The Health and Medical Department informed that a total fine of Rs. 10,000 has been recovered so far.

Various measures are being taken in the city to prevent insect-borne diseases. All establishments including industrial, construction establishments, offices, home institutions, houses and commercial shops should immediately destroy the mosquito breeding places in their places, otherwise strict action will be taken.

In order to prevent the outbreak of dengue, chikungunya and malaria, the Municipal Corporation has started the action of inspecting various areas and issuing notices on a large scale. The Municipal Corporation has also appealed to the citizens to cooperate with the inspection team of the Municipal Corporation to prevent the outbreak of Dengue in the city.

Enforcement Actions for Mosquito Breeding Violations

The municipal corporation is inspecting to various construction establishments where work is going on in the city. After inspecting the areas where water accumulates, notices are being issued to the concerned. Apart from this, penal action is being taken against the establishments where such places are found.

Facility of Rapid Kits for Dengue Screening in Municipal Hospitals

Rapid kits for dengue testing have been made available in municipal hospitals and clinics. Release of guppy fish in clean water, survey of containers of citizens’ houses, survey of business places are being carried out for control of diseases. The Municipal Corporation has taken precautions to prevent the spread of diseases like winter fever, dengue, chikungunya during monsoon. The municipal corporation is committed to effectively implement the Dengue, Malaria prevention campaign in the city.

Water Storage Devices in the House Should be Checked Regularly

Containers filled with clean water inside and outside the house as well as water in indoor flower-pots, money plants and fridge drip pans are breeding places for mosquitoes.
