Public holiday declared in Pune, Shirur and Maval for voting on May 13

Pune, 11th May 2024: The Lok Sabha General Election 2024 is currently underway, and the Maharashtra government has declared a public holiday in the respective Lok Sabha Constituencies on the day of voting.

Polling will be held in Maval, Pune, and Shirur Lok Sabha constituencies on May 13th, so there will be a holiday on that day.

According to a notification issued by the Maharashtra State Government, this public holiday will also apply to voters in their respective constituencies who are away for work. Furthermore, this public holiday will apply to state and central government offices, semi-government offices, public enterprises, and other organizations.

To increase voter turnout in this election, extensive public awareness campaigns are being carried out. Dr Suhas Diwase, the Pune District Collector and District Election Officer, has urged citizens to fulfill their national duty by voting and participating in the grand festival of democracy.
