Pune: Air Force Tempo Overturned on Old Mumbai-Pune Highway, Holds up Traffic

Pune, April 30, 2024: An Air Force tempo overturned on the old Mumbai-Pune Highway at Morwadi. The tempo attempted a sharp turning maneuver in order to save a biker on the road, and overturned. The overturned vehicle has since caused a traffic jam and has led to long vehicle queues.

The tempo was travelling to Mumbai along the old highway, when, in Morwadi, a biker attempted to overtake the tempo. In order to save the biker, the tempo sharply turned and in turn overturned in the middle of the road.

The overturning also led to a minor oil spill from the tempo, which was shortly washed away by the quick response of the fire department, who arrived at the scene with the Pimpri Police and Traffic Police.

In the while, a crane was called in to clear the overturned tempo and restore traffic flow along the old Mumbai-Pune highway.
