Alandi: In an alarming incident reminiscent of the recent Porsche car accident in Pune, a 17-year-old boy attempted to run over a woman and bystanders with a four-wheeler in Wadgaon Ghenand, near Alandi. The incident occurred on Saturday (15th) and has stirred the local community after a video of the event went viral on social media.

Najuka Ranjit Thorat, a resident of Wadgaon Ghenand, filed a complaint with the Alandi Police, who have registered a case against the minor. According to the police, the fight was the result of a prior quarrel involving Thorat’s son. In a fit of rage, the minor drove his vehicle (MH 14, HD 5749) at high speed towards Thorat, who narrowly escaped with minor injuries.

The chaos did not end there. Witnesses reported that the boy, in a reckless display of anger, reversed the car and then sped forward again, attempting to run over other people at the scene, including an elderly man. Fortunately, those present managed to move aside in time to avoid being hit.

The boy did not stop there, instead he climbed onto the car, removed his shirt, and verbally abused Thorat. The Alandi police have detained the minor, and he has been sent to a juvenile correctional home by the juvenile court on charges of attempted murder.

This incident has intensified concerns among residents about the increasing trend of minors driving high-speed vehicles. Just two and a half months ago, a traffic policeman was seriously injured in a similar incident. Locals are now calling for stricter enforcement and penalties for underage driving to prevent further such occurrences.
