The strategically secured land in this rapidly developing township is designated for IT. The first phase of the expansion will focus on establishing a comprehensive educational facility where students can study various C-DAC IT courses in high-end technology areas such as VLSI, HPC, Big Data, and AI. This development will significantly enhance C-DAC’s capacity, allowing up to 1,200 students to enroll, compared to the current 650 at the Advanced Computing Training School (ACTS) in Pune.

In subsequent phases, C-DAC plans to set up state-of-the-art research and development facilities, including high-end data centers with indigenous high-performance computer facilities. These facilities will feature advanced R&D labs dedicated to developing next-generation supercomputers, interconnects, and related technologies.

The establishment of these advanced academic and research facilities in Chikhli marks a significant milestone in C-DAC’s commitment to excellence in technology education and research. The new building will boast state-of-the-art architecture, efficient ventilation, a well-equipped parking lot, helipad, drone pad, solar system, and an eco-friendly campus, Joint Secretary Sanket Bhondve added.
