Pune: Complete Ban On Electronic Devices Within 100 Meters Of Polling Stations; Collector Office Releases Instructional Video
Pune, November 19, 2024: Pune Collector and District Election Officer, Dr. Sahas Diwase has issued strict instructions to ensure fair elections. During the polling on November 20, the use of any kind of electronic devices will be prohibited within a radius of 100 meters of the polling stations.
Dr. Diwase has clarified that only a few selected personnel such as polling station presidents, micro-inspectors, and election duty officers will be allowed to carry electronic devices within the restricted zone. It is mandatory for all other individuals to leave devices such as mobile phones, smartwatches, pen cameras, or wireless sets outside the 100-meter radius of the polling station.

This ban will also apply to candidates, representatives of political parties, supporters, voters, and media personnel. If anyone is found to be in possession of these devices, legal action will be taken against them.
The District Collector, Dr. Suhas Diwase also said that any celebrities or leaders who come for the voting and desirous of capturing the moments in camera also must do so outside the 100m perimeter of the polling booth. He further added that the representatives of the political parties can set up their kiosks only outside 200m perimeter of the polling booth.
Dr. Diwase has appealed to all candidates, their representatives, and the general public to follow these instructions and cooperate in making the election process smooth and fair.
