Pune: Crime Branch Raids Koregaon Park Shops Selling Fake Branded Goods; ₹35.31 Lakh Worth Items Seized
Pune, December 6, 2024 – Acting on specific intelligence about the sale of counterfeit branded goods, Pune police recently conducted raids on two shops in the Koregaon Park area, seizing fake branded clothes and accessories worth ₹35,31,051. The operation targeted reputed apparel stores on North Main Road, Koregaon Park.
The counterfeit goods bore fake labels of globally recognized brands such as LACOSTE, UNDERARMOUR, POLO, GANT, and NIKE. The raid was carried out under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime) Mr. Nikhil Pingle and was led by Crime Branch Unit 2 in-charge Police Inspector Pratap Mankar, along with a representative from the affected brands.
Two shop owners and a woman were apprehended. A case has been registered under Section 63 and 65 of the Copyright Act, 1950, at the Koregaon Park Police Station.
The operation was executed under the guidance of Additional Commissioner of Police Shri Shailesh Balkavade and Assistant Commissioner of Police Crime Shri Ganesh Ingle, with the assistance of officers from Crime Branch Unit 2.
The seized items and the arrested individuals will be presented in court as investigations continue.
