Pune witnessed a significant crackdown today as Pune Police and the Municipal Corporation demolished illegal constructions at various pubs, hotels, and shops. This action comes in response to a viral video showing drug use at L3 – Liquid Leisure Lounge on Ferguson Road, sparking widespread outrage.

Chief Minister Eknath Shinde instructed Pune Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar to take immediate action against illegal establishments involved in drug activities.

As a result, Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) swiftly began demolishing unauthorized structures on Ferguson Road, clearing approximately 9,000 to 10,000 square feet of encroached space affecting 12 to 15 businesses, including Vaishali Hotel, Shirole Mall, and Culture Hotel.

The State Excise Department also revoked the license of L3 Bar following the unauthorized party and drug consumption incident, which included minors. Both the Pune Police and State Excise Department are intensifying measures against drug-related activities in the city.
