A major fire broke out at a factory in Pimpri-Chinchwad’s Kudalwadi on Thursday morning, causing damage to many companies. The fire began at 8:10 am in the Kudalwadi area of Chikhli in Pune and quickly spread to nearby establishments.

Upon receiving the emergency call, fire tenders and water tankers immediately rushed to the scene. More than 15 fire engines from the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation were deployed to control the fire. The fire was later brought under control, and the cooling operation was being carried out to prevent any further spread.

Fortunately, no casualties were reported as it was a Thursday, and there were no employees present in the affected companies. However, the fire resulted in huge financial losses, with the companies losing crores of rupees in damaged goods and infrastructure.

The industrial unit that first caught fire was part of RK Traders Manufacturing, that deals with rubber materials. The fire also affected two more companies located nearby. Due to the nature of the materials involved, massive efforts were required to bring the fire under control, with thick smoke creating an atmosphere of fear in the vicinity.

The cause of the fire is being investigated, and authorities are working to find out the reasons behind the incident.
