Pune, May 01, 2024: Ongoing metro and highway works had necessitated various traffic restrictions on the Khadki-Bopodi stretch and also at many places on the old Mumbai-Pune highway.

Now with the metro work almost completed, Pune city traffic police have made important changes by removing many restrictions to relieve the traffic situation on the above-mentioned stretches.

From today, May 01, 2024, two way traffic has been allowed on Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Road towards Khadki bringing a relief for commuters on this road.

Further, the following traffic changes have been made:

  • Two way traffic allowed from Church Chowk to Bopodi Chowk for all types of vehicles
  • Two way traffic allowed on Elphinstone Road from Bopodi Chowk to Holkar Bridge via Khadki Bazaar. No entry for heavy vehicles on this route.
  • Two way traffic allowed on General Thorat Road from Church Chowk to Ayudh Chowk
  • Commuters traveling from the underpass from Harris Bridge towards Khadki Police Station will need to travel via CFD Chowk and All Saints School Road
  • Entry will be restricted for all vehicles between Ordnance Factory Hospital to CFD Chowk towards Harris Bridge

Most of the traffic restrictions on these routes were due to ongoing Metro construction for the last three years. Now with Metro work almost over, the authorities have responded to commuters’ demand and eased up traffic restrictions to make traveling on these routes more convenient.
