Traffic changes announced at Shivajinagar from May 04, 2024 for metro work

Pune, May 03, 2023: Pune Traffic Police have announced major traffic diversions at Shivajinagar to facilitate construction work of pillars and girders for the Hinjawadi-Shivajinagar Metro Line 3.

These traffic diversions are to ensure reduced traffic congestion between Veer Chaphekar Chowk (Agriculture College – Masobha Gate) and Shimla Office (IMD) and surrounding areas. The below mentioned traffic route changes will come into effect from May 04, 2024.

Traffic Diversions at Shivajinagar

  • The road from Veer Chaphekar Chowk towards Shimla Office (IMD) will be closed for all traffic. The flyover will also be closed in that direction. All vehicles will be diverted via Na Ta Wadi – Sakhar Sankul – Shivajinagar Metro – Shimla Office Chowk.
  • Vehicles coming from FC Road will not be allowed to take a right turn at Veer Chaphekar Chowk. Instead, they will travel straight towards Na Ta Wadi and take a right turn via Shivajinagar Metro Station to Shimla Office Chowk.
  • Chaphekar Chowk to Na Ta Wadi will be one way. Commuters from Na Ta Wadi to Chaphekar Chowk will have to come via Shivajinagar Station.
  • Commuters coming from JM Corner towards Shivajinagar Station will have to take a left turn at Shimla Office and go via Na Ta Wadi towards the Station.
  • Shivajinagar Station towards Na Ta Wadi via ST Stand is closed for Traffic.
  • Vehicles traveling from Shimla Office towards Pune University will have to take the Agriculture Flyover (Chaphekar Chowk).
  • The entire section of Veer Chaphekar Chowk (Agriculture College – Masobha Gate) – Na Ta Wadi to Shimla Office (IMD) will be a no-parking zone.

These traffic changes will be implemented with effect from tomorrow, i.e. May 04, 2024 (Saturday). Commuters are requested to make a note of the above changes and plan their commute accordingly.
