Lavale recorded the highest minimum temperature at 18.0°C, followed by Wadgaon Sheri at 17.7°C and Magarpatta at 17.6°C showing a trend consistent with this upward shift. On the other hand, Shivajinagar saw a cooler 12.5°C, while NDA and Haveli recorded 11.5°C. Baramati reported the lowest temperature in the region, dipping to 9.7°C.

According to Anupam Kashyapi, former head of the weather forecasting division, IMD Pune, this trend can be attributed to a weakening low-pressure system over the Bay of Bengal moving northwest. This change alters the wind patterns, blocking colder northerly winds and allowing temperatures to climb slightly.

However, a western disturbance around December 26–27 is expected to interact with these winds, potentially increasing rainfall chances in Maharashtra, including Pune, as well as parts of Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh.
