Pune: Mumbai-Pune-Bengaluru Expressway to Ease Traffic in Pimpri Chinchwad, Says Nitin Gadkari
Pune, November 17, 2024: Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari on Saturday announced that the upcoming Mumbai-Pune-Bengaluru Expressway will help reduce traffic jams in Pimpri Chinchwad.
He made the announcement while campaigning for Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate Shankar Jagtap, who is contesting from the Chinchwad seat in the Maharashtra Assembly Elections 2024. The elections will be held on November 20 and the counting of votes will take place on November 23.
The expressway, being built at a cost of ₹55,000 crore, will pass through Pune’s Pimpri Chinchwad via the ring road, which is often jammed due to heavy vehicle traffic. According to Gadkari, this new development will strategically divert traffic and reduce frequent jams in the area.
