Pune: Narrow Escape for 15 Students as School Bus Catches Fire in Kharadi
Fifteen school students narrowly escaped a potentially fatal incident when their bus caught fire near Mountain Glory Society in the Tulja Bhavaninagar locality of Kharadi on Thursday afternoon.
Quick-thinking residents and commuters rescued the children and the driver, ensuring everyone’s safety.
Fire tenders promptly arrived at the scene and extinguished the blaze. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, according to a fire brigade official.
A video of the burning bus circulated widely on social media, sparking concerns about vehicle safety protocols for school transportation.

Fireman Sandeep Randive from the BT Kawade Road Fire Station stated, “The incident occurred at 2:30 pm. The cause of the fire is still under investigation. As smoke began emanating from the bus, the driver, Madhav Rathod, quickly alerted the students and, with assistance from bystanders, safely evacuated them.”
